Today’s ‘Sunday Business Post’ has an interesting drug-pricing comparison. The picture shows the differences between drug prices in Northern Ireland compared to the rest of Ireland. While the picture reveals the extreme price differences between what a private customer pays here and in the north, it’s more interesting to see the comparisons between what the HSE (Health Service Executive) pays for a medication and the price a private individual up north pays for the same drug. At best, is this another case of keeping ‘industry’ happy? Never mind the little people James, they’ll never notice and sure if they do, won’t Enda have your back? Despite James Reilly’s numerous failings, this one, as acting minister for health, deserves some answers. I’ll hold my breath, shall I?
Is that DOH as in ‘Dept of Health’ or a DOH as in Homer Simpson?
